Hey everyone, first off let me say you have a great site here. Super informative. Between this site and the trails around my house I'm finding that these little Zuks and Geos are super capable. I've had my stock 4 door 4x4 Tracker for about a year and a half and it's already put my last truck a V-6 S-10 to shame. I've got it good and stuck more than a few times and now I think its time for bigger tires and a lift. Here's what I'm thinking about ordering, tell me what you think.
Calmini 3+3+1 inch spacers
33x10.50 MT probably BFG on 15x8 steels with 2.5 backspacing
front and rear gears
Will the (awesome) little 1.6 16v have enough power with the gears?
What in the drivetrain do I destroy first?
How much much fender choppin will I be doing?
More importantly, am I nuts?
Its my daily driver/weekend wheeler so if this is a bad setup let me know, got to get to work and all.
Thanks in advance for any input, again awesome site.

You can't the 5.83 gears anymore but if you have a auto trans you could get a set from a stick which are 5.12.
Good luck

The only problem about the track/kicks dont have a very good gearing option for them.
You are already pretty maxed out in the R&p department. You could always look into doubling up on transfer cases and adding a samurai case to the mix.
As for weak links in your drive train, your front diff housing isnt know for being extremely stout. Also your front CV's might get a bit more stress with some 33's.
Hope that helps

yours will end up like this only with 2 more doors 8)

Hey lostsamurai nice ride, any frame rubbing issues.

A little birdy told me someone will have most everything you need for sale used in the garage sale soon...including gearing... (Should be posted tonight) ;D.
With the proper gearing you will be fine with the 33's, no speed demon by any means but will get you around at interstate speeds (unless you live in the Rockey's)
I was more that pleased with my 2 door on 33's for years. I was very rough on mine and had to upgrade the driveline to hold up to the trail abuse I was putting her through. But I could still drive her all around the country (and did).

YES there is it rubs both sides and the calipers smash the front coils and i sometimes have to pump the brakes back up,also the calmini is so stiff riding in my track is pretty much what commuting in a tank would feel like, on the other hand it turns heads like you wouldnt belive, and with loc rites front and rear and 5.89 axle gears it wheels like crazy 8)

I don't mean to be a pain in the a**, but whats your backspacing?
-
3.5" way too much imo, i ran 32x11.50x15's and didnt get stopped by the pocheese, but now with the 33x12.50x15's im really risking it by the way the pic you see is the 32's its bigger now. also i have no mudflaps :(

Man you rock, its good to know someone is running the calmini stuff with 33s. Its lookin like that's what I'm going with, and 2.5" of backspacing might even get'm off the frame. I'm sure it'll be a dog till I get some gears though. I might be ordering parts soon so I'll let ya know. And thanks again everyone for the input.
