The few times I've used the petcock to drain some radiator fluid, I've been disappointed in how much, or I should say how little, fluid will come out.
I remove the radiator cap, and I've tried from just a few turns and all the way until it's just about at the end of it's travel. Still, the fluid drains pretty much like a trickle.
I'll be draining the fluid again one of these days for some TB work, maybe some head work, and a fluid flush & fill and I'm just wondering if this is normal?

YA. Pitcocks are pretty slow way of draining.
Just walk away and have lunch while waiting.

If you take it all the way out
the fluid drains fairly quick, but
then it goes 2 directions and
makes more of a mess

OK, well, it's good to know it's "normal" ::)

I knew someone had to say it. I was expecting a Beevus or Butthead image though ;)

I just recently changed my rad fluid and had no problems.  It takes about 5 minutes for the wholes system to drain out.
I'm all set for winter now with fresh antifreeze. :)
