I'm pretty hard on my 'kick when I'm wheeling, is there a way to install a rev limiter with the stock ignition?
It's a '98 16v

1.6 16valve engines have a factory rev limiter. Several people on this forum use it a lot. :) Depending on how far your factory tach is off some will swear it's 6800 some say its 7200.... Either way, you have a rev limter if you're using a factory ECM.

LOL, I was thinking about that on one trip. I swear the valves are floating before the rev limiter kicks in, I was thinking about 5K would be safer for me.

I've seen guy in mud holes (here in Michigan) bounce off the rev. limiter for what seems like minutes at a time with out any bad results.
I've recently been to the sand dunes and on approch of many hills, I was bouncing the limiter.
