I see it can be done, but I can't find any of the small details like for the 98's and earlier.
Can you use box tube? I say yes
Steering Shaft Issues? I think I have a solution for this
Things To Watch For? Brake lines
Any info would be great
Thread Merge:
Well, I'll post up what I made for anyone else looking.
Just finished a 2" spacer lift on a 2000 Tracker, I was a little nervous as it was the first one, with little info. Coil spacers were the same as the earlier models, but the upper strut mount needs a spacer rather than a flip.
The spacer I made was 1.5" thick HDPE Polyethelene cut 4" ID and 6.5" OD with the inside edge beveled out .25" . Mounted with 2.25" 5/16" bolts. Pics to come soon once I get them off the phone.
The upper strut brace was sacraficed since this rig will be getting a 3" body lift this weekend to fit the 31's. The sway bar was also removed and put on the scrap shelf >:D

Don't know much about it, but Rocky Road has a steering shaft extension available which I think you'll need. You may have to extend the shifter some how and re-mount the radiator. Take a look under the hood and see what gets lifted up with the body and what stays down with the frame - if they are attached (hose, wire, etc.) you MAY have to extend or remount something.

No pics of the rear, everyone has seen that done - plus there just wasn't time for pics.

They got pressed out in a vise using a 15mm deep socket.

I figured something like that could be done with the newer Suzuki's... much cheaper than buying strut extender/spacers!

Go to page 3 they do a RR body lift it helped me do mine.
The RR body lift is made by Sky mfrg. (Get it from sky better customer service)
The body lift is close to the same as the sidekick .
It just uses longer bolts in the front mounts.

I'm guessing this is just 3x3x1/4 box tube

Looks great Uncivilized! The square tube looks a lot more sturdy than the plastic looking B/L I purchased. Kinda got me thinking.. I want to send it back! What size tire are you going to run?

I barely did any of the body lift, my friend Craig did it all himself. The plastic 2" kits are good too, that's what I have in my 95(however I did swap out the 4 center mounts for home made 4" diameter ones)
The tube is 3x3 3/16" wall. I made one that was 1/8" wall before and I think it's too small. Not that anything happened, just doesn't seem good enough. The owner bought 31-10.5-15. Just waiting for some 15" x 7" rims now, put them on and trim out the rubbage.
