Title: Transfercase gear noise

I just had a set of Rockmonster 4.24:1 gears installed in the t-case and there is some fairly loud whining coming from case,,is this normal? Or should it sound the same as before in 4-low? Thanks.

I have talked to a couple of guys that have different gear sets and all but a few said that there gears were all around quiet.  In 4Lo those gears are start winging when you get the R's up.  I have the trail gear 6.5:1 gears and in 4Lo when i get on it then let off it is pretty loud.  I'm sure they will quite down with time as they wear in, i just put them in and haven't put but 50 miles on them.

i have the 6 5 1 as well and and there very loud in all gears 4 hi 4 low and in 2 wheel drive i just turn up the cd player and ignore it..

I have Caliminis 4.24:1 gears in my case.  The make a wining noise that kinda pulses in 4lo.  Quiet in 4hi.

After I frist installed them, I pulled them out and inspected every tooth and bearing.  Then reinstalled and still had the sound.  I called Calimini and they said it was normal and later talked to others that has the same set and they all had the same sound.
