Alright as most know I make cages for the Samurai, and have for quite some time. The kick market is a little new to me and I want to know, Do the kick owners want another option for a cage and If so what do they want to see in it.. IF it was made to go through the dash would guys take he time to do it that way. Or I have another option. I realy dont care for the wrap around the front portion of dash, as it is weaker. But What do you guys feel you would want in a cage.

The one I had made for my Kick worked great but was very tight quarters. I did not want to go through the dash and Mark agreed with you on the weak 'bend around the dash' design, so I had the choice of turn down in front of the dash or through the dash. Well, I should of gone with the through the dash. Turned down in front of the dash was in the way but I got use to it.
Being 5'7" the halo around the drivers quarters was also tight. Your biggest issue will be making a strong cage with plenty of room to still have leg/head room and still be able to slide/recline the front seats while staying out of the leg space for rear passengers.

I don't think the through the dash option would work for most bolt in guys. I know on the older ones you would have to take a hole saw to it, not the most attractive idea...

my kick is a tin top, So I would like to see covering the rear as an option, as for the dash I say cut the sucker, I'm 6'4 and I need all the leg room I can get. as far as the hole is concerned I should be able to find some kind of round trim to fit in there. but seeing as how it has several dents and scratches on the outside I'm not too concerned with the dash. My motto has always been ability over looks. If though the dash works better than that's my pick.

One of the problems with the through the dash idea is the model you have. With my 96 I have a coupe of speaker holes that would be perfect for sliding the bars down through. But the 91 doesn't have that option. It would be interesting to see how you do it for a wide audience though. :)

A rear only option would be great.

I would cut my dash to run a cage. I am 6'2" and i see the cage that comes out around the dash and figure i would bash my knees of it getting in and out. A rear option would be cool too!

On my 89 sidekick it looks like the roll cage could go through the two ac vents and out underneath the dash. My ac has been removed so it wouldnt matter to me if it went through there. Actually think that would be cool!

Have you ever thought of a exo-cage kit that would bolt on with minimal welding?
-
I'm 6ft2 and I've driven a TracK/Kick with the Calmini cage. I was continually bashing my head on the cage. It was padded but its an annoyance and a distraction. If I were to go with a cage on mine it would have to be an exo.
