Title: alittle alternator help

i got a 86 samurai and i noticed the green plug on the alternator one wire is off like cut off. it also starts up and runs although the head light comes dim but with high revs its good to go what should i do buy a new plug or make the batt ground to the firewall bigger in the gauge? any help will be find thanks and aloha

Get a plug and wire it correctly.

It wouldn't hurt to add an extra ground wire or two as well.  :)

i think a little dimming of the headlights at idle is expected.
have you checked voltage at the battery?
battery voltage should be |removethispart|@ 12.5V, higher at idle(13+), and mabe 14.2V- 14.6V when turning faster.
batteries are cheap, and if your alternator is doing this then you should be good.
of course good wiring only helps.........
