Looking thru the website it looks like all the plates do is apply spring pressure to the spider gears to lock the axles together. I think for the money I would just buy a Lockrite.

I don't want a spool or a Lockrite. I was looking at the OE LSD, this is cheaper but I'll probably go with the OE for reliability.

On other cars I have read these as being real hit or miss, sometimes they work sometimes they don't. You usually have to pull them out after a year or two and put new springs in though, across the board.

what type of use are you buying this for?

I want one for the SJ, mainly to tame the rear end . The pickup is very light at the back and fairly stiffly sprung. The 1.6 8V is being replaced with a 16V from a late model Baleno/Esteem.
