:) Called a salvage yard in northern Illinois about a 5:38 front carrier they had posted on car-part.com and they also had the rear one.
$125.00 each or both for $200.
Paid for and picking them up on Saturday!!!
This should give me just the right correction for my taller tires and more take off from a start. ;D

They got any more? I could use another rear carrier with the elusive 5.38's.
-
Not that i know of, i just did a search on car-part.com and looked for the closest place with the cheapest price.
It's like only 75 miles from me.
-
cant believe you got it so cheap , i wouldnt mind a set of those for mine i just wouldnt want to pay the money for a set as to me in the UK they work out about 1200 dollars
-
might wanna check the *actual* ratio before you drop the 2 bones. Sometimes yards don't really know much so they may mark it as 5.38 but in reality it's the common 5.12 ...
If you did score 5.38's ... i'm in envy ;D
-
I asked the guy twice the ratio, he said, yep 5:38,but i will count the ring teeth and divide by the pinion teeth before i leave the place.....on both carriers!!
I actually used to think it was a mistake that there was 5:38 ratio's till Whitfield said he scored a set himself. ;)

>:( >:( Pissed as hell, got to the junkyard 100 miles away and the damn carriers were not separate from the rear-ends so i had to take all of it. Guy assured me after checking the computer they were 5:38's.
Got home tore apart the front one and their 5:12's.
Called the F..KER's back up and bitched, only thing they could say is they will refund my money if i bring them back >:( >:( another 100 miles tomorrow to stick them up their ass's. Shit i'am steaming now......rant over.
