Title: Headlights not working...
Post by: R4ped_4pe on October 12, 2008, 04:03:18 PM
Ok here it is...I was driving this morning with the head lights on because it was a little foggy. About an hour into the drive I started smelling burning plastic. I could not find the source, as I arrived at my destination. I keeped looking after I parked it, and turned the lights off. It seemed to be coming from my steering wheel. So after my event, I started to come home, and tryed to turn the head lights on, and the switch would not turn? Like it is seized up, And im twisting it pretty hard. I still kind of smell the burning plastic smell down by the steering wheel, but just a tiny bit. Did I fry the whole assembly? Or what? What would have caused this?

Sounds like the multi function switch shorted out! Good thing it didn't catch fire! It happens every now and then. It must have gotten really hot if it melted it like that. I don't think they are that hard to replace. i would advise following a manual especially if you have an airbag!

I still have the turn signal/ steering column from my tracker. It has the Intermittent wiper switch on it.
