Title: pro top hard top?
Post by: mike5721947 on October 16, 2008, 09:19:08 PM
ok when i bought my sidekick it had a pro top hardtop back from 93 on it. from the day i bought the truck the 2 rear clips for the front section have been broken (the part where they slide though) so it doesnt hold the top down tight.

been wondering where i can pick up another front top from cause i cant for the life of me find a site that sells them. i like the setup it has for mounting.

also wondering... ive seen another hard top on a sidekick that had turn cam locks on the rear of the front section to suck it down... anyone know the brand of that one??? (almost seems a bit stronger style)

i dont mind the rally top other then the mounting of the front section... to me it looks like crap how they mount it. how mine is it looks stock. no ugly clips. just 2 sliders that clamp the top down to the targa bar

Hey Merlin, Are these tops any good? I contacted them about a month ago asking about how much room they have for tall people, how much the sport top weighs, and how much shipping was going to be. So far, Jerry has only answered one of those questions by sending photos showing how far back the sport top would allow the seats to go. That part looked good, but I'm still waiting for the other answers.  :-\

When my pieces that held the front roof section on at the rear of the hardtop broke, I made new ones out of steel to replace them.

how are the tops held on normally?? my front part ha 2 things that used the same latches that the front and there are 2 in the rear that kinda slide out and there is also 2 that slide out on the rear part of the roof on, i had a soft top, so i didnt know how to do anything, i kept the trim on the rear top part of the rollbar and put 2 screws thru the roof into the tub of the tracker, then filled the gap with bead backer and solar seal...the rear part isnt removable on mine
