Title: Need help...

I've read about the reverse light problem most have had but i still have a question or two about it...  I found the plugs coming off of my transmission for the reverse lights and the fifth gear egr thing its both male and female ended plugs i need to know where to plug them into cause i have no plugs on my firewall for it and i don't even really know if an 87 has an ecm so please help me i would like to have my reverse lights back....

i have a 91 tracker and mine was located right next to the throttle body

they should be over behind the brake booster.

 Along the firewall wiring between the booster and coild is where the plugs for the transmission switches are.
 Did you check to see if the wires are intact where they go into the transmission? Most issues I've seen with them is the fact the wire breaks right where it goes into the epoxy on the metal body where it threads in. You can't repair them. They have to be replaced.
 If you have issues with burning them out due to brighter reverse lights, then you need to install a relay inline for the lights.

Actually, they can be repaired, if the wire(s) are broken off.

That thread is talking about the tcase switch, but it is made the same as the tranny switches.

But no more than they cost new (around $25), it would probably be easiest just to replace them.
