Title: Where to install a mechanical Oil Pressure gauge on a sami?
Post by: Fordota on October 23, 2008, 03:10:44 PM
I asked this before a little premature and now I cant find where. Anyhow where would I plug my mechanical oil pressure gauge in? I thought I was told that it was above the filter where the wires connect on the drivers side.

It should be an M10 x 1.0mm fitting, you can buy adapters.

i'm sure you are right, and i've wondered how much difference there is from npt sizes.
i've done this many times over the years with japanese and german engines. doesn't seem to stretch or pull threads.
mabe.
my experience.

Thanks for the help guys! Just one more... When I remove the dummy light sensor above the oil filter, will it be a male that comes out of a female port in the block?

yes
in my case i used an 1/8" brass nipple to the tee, screwed the sender in one end and the compression fit tube in the other.
