I'm looking to place some fairly inexpensive outdoor speakers in the back of my samurai. I leave the top off so they need to be true 'outdoor' speakers. Something kind of small so they can be mounted on the rear fenders (I'm thinking box type, enclosed speakers).
Looking on-line all I find are outdoor patio speakers… I'm not sure but isn't their an Ohm difference between house speakers and car speakers? The patio speakers are probably also not designed for all the ruff handling they will get in a sami!
Any ideas!?!?!?
Thanks
Rodney

Check at a Marine/Boat shop. They should be able to hook you up, my brother used them in his Sammy back before he sold it.

I work in an off road shop here in texas and I know bazooka makes a marine three way 6x9. Thats what we have been using in the rear of jeeps!

i had mine under my dash they were boat speakers i got out of a boat my friend just bought. i submerged them alot and they always worked very well. oneday some one at the beach decided they needed my radio and speakers more than me. it was nice of them to at least use dikes and not to steal the cooler full of coronas in behind the seat
but jokes on them because the radio had a security code you had to enter when it loses power.

check ebay and google
just search for marine speakers
alot of brands have them

They have some real nice ones at the ski resorts. I think they are made by Bose, but they are attached to the trees, lifts, and the outside of the lodge. They must be made pretty well, as they sound great and hold up to sub zero temperatures, as well as rain and other outdoor weather 8)

i stay dry when i have the doors on and softtop on. only problem i have is theres holes in the back wheel tubs so my back seat passengers get rain water in there faces lol

patio speakers are going to be 8 ohms and car speakers are 4 ohm the only way u could use them is hook them paralell in one channel i belive

it shouldnt really matter as long you are giving a speaker alot of watts. will effect sound quality but still will play fine
