There isn't much you can do w/the lil' 4 banger.  :-\ Maybe squeeze in a 2.5 or 2.7 Zuki V-6.

Or better yet...

I suggest something like this...  ;)

exhaust work helps, particularly pulling a cat and throwing in a less restrictive muffler.

Differential swap..  IF your feeling a lack of omph from larger tires.
Put in your signature line what yah got, will be easier to figure what you'd like.
If you put in your location in your profile, it may help pointing out suppliers.

You can do little things, Port out your stock air box, with a dremel clean out all the radius and put in a KN filter,

The exhasut manifold can be ported out with a die grinder, the exhaust put a 2.25" cat and full exhaust on it with a flow master or magnaflow muffler, run synthetic and new iriduim plugs,

Next summer when i get my house i will be pushing hard on the headers for the 2.0. I will make a full long tube header and exhaust and dyno before and after.

Pick up a Carsound cat round body. there pretty cheap under 100us for sure. do a 2.25 off the manifold to the cat, then 2.25 back to a muffler and tip. Will pick up some ponies. Example just doing a 3rd cat delete on a v6 gv netted me pulling 2 lenghts consitant on the exact same stock gv . we tested it then put the delete on and noticeable difference.

Does the 2.0 have a manifold pre cat?

Check out the "Shift-On-The-Fly Removal" article for info on How Too.
http://zukiworld.com/month_030104/feature_tsb_shiftontheflyremoval.htm

If you have a manual you should have 4.62 Ring & Pinion.  If you swapped in the 5.13 gears, you could go from a 27" to a 30" tire without much performace change.  This would benefit you in high and low, you would keep your highway driving performace and off road close to stock.

Do a search here for the swap.  Don't need another thread on the diff swap.

Does the 2.0 have a manifold pre cat?

Sure does.

You could delete the secondary cat and it will make more power. The primary o2 is ahead of the cat and the 2ndary is behind the primary cat, Every car i did and truck with a pre cat passed the emissions with fliying colors.

Are you saying you passed emissions with just a precat?

What does the precat do vs. a regular cat converter?
I'm into more power but also don't wanna stink up the air more than it already is...

According to the guy doing my exhaust work tomorrow, any removal of any emissions device or accessory is illegal in the USA, unless you are doing ONLY off-road, and he is not sure on that point.

ABout the topic:  I am getting a new rear magnaflow cat and muffler with 2.25 inch pipe.  Hope that I get the HP boost I have heard about in this forum.  Want to be able to have better performance with "junk in the trunk" and also for towing my small trailer and my hoped for snowmobile (for access to remote ice fishing and snowshoeing places in the Cascades and Siskiyous of Southern Oregon).

I will report after a few miles and some pace putting.

ALso we found a bolt missing from the port side bracket near the manifold, and a broken bracket on the right, which will be welded.  And I thought it was the old heat shield rattle.  grin

These suzuki have 2 stages of cats. there is a primary and a secondary. If you know how many egt's it takes for a cat to work properly. The secondary cat on our trucks is not monitored due to the fact it is down stream.

Yes my truck passed etest with the factory manifold cat. I did the same thing to a friends 2.0 tracker he passes every year the etest sorry every 2 years.

As for pulling 2 sleds and a trailer behind my gv on the 29" its meh i hate it needed more power. Even with the mods i got now still lacks power. But these were 2 RX-1's lol

Not many smog techs are looking for a 2nd cat right now. In fact, I've never had one look for a primary cat (they know if I don't have one, it'll never pass the sniffer - never underestimate the laziness of the average technician). In case they do in the future (sometimes they just need time to catch up to what people are doing), just have a "blank" installed. Where the 2nd cat is supposed to go, have a section built up with some flanges so that blank can be un-bolted, and the 2nd cat bolted back in during your emissions test. When done - take it out.

I too don't want to breathe dirty air, but if they're passing emissions with the primary cat only, then they're burning clean enough for me. Just one factory in China is going to produce more pollution in one year than your 2nd cat delete will do in a lifetime.

Wowee!!!  In town it sure gets up and goes.  And at 154+k miles.  Will see about mileage and hiway stuff in a few days.  Have to drive 65mph freeway, then mostly 55mph tops on US199 and US 101, with lotsa good fun curves and stuff.  I will disengage the power button (as usual) and use the OD switch and second gear and if I am lucky, don;t have to touch my brakes unless there is a foolish coward in front of me who does not understand turnouts.  Yes, I drive it like a sports car in those circumstances.  (Yes, it is automatic, but my body cannot do manual anymore.)

I will also have some junk in the trunk, as well as my hitch cargo platform (why I installed a Class III receiver).  WIll report again after that.
