Hi Guys,  After lots of time and consideration I thought it is worth a post on here to hear your views on a front locker for a tracker kick.
Options as follows starting with what i think is the best,
1, ARB,
2,Limited Slip diff
3 locrite, or other,
Does anyone run a LSD in the front, I have  a couple of questions. I have run rear LSD before not in my Zuk, they seem to work fine,
1 How well does it work, ie will it lock under extreme pressure or slip.
2, How long will the clutchs inside last if used only off road.
3, How well does it unlock , IE. when steaming up a hill with a right hand turn at the top will it dis-engage enough to allow you to turn or is it time to apply the brakes to get it to unlock or try and get teh right revs etc
any comments will be great

I thought it would be the best option,
next to an ARB of coarse, but I was told
they didn't really work all that well and
to save for the ARB instead, but I don't
know first hand usage

hi ,I have a Calmini LSD in the front axle and I m very happy with it.
2 main reasons
1.In mud terrain ,I saw that when the rear locker starts digging deep in the mud,the front LSD is the one that pulls the truck out of the mudhole
2.Again when driving with 4wd,the front LSD operates very well even when turning, and applies the best possible torqe to the front wheels, elliminating slippage.
I didnt used a locker in the front cause I want to protect the sensitive front halfshafts. The axle housing breakage was solved with the Anvil and a steel 3rd member. But the halfshafts remain a problem to be solved. And ,with a locker ,I believe I would have to stock at least 4 pieces ,just to be sure... :)
The LSD is strong enough (together with a rear locker) to help the truck overcome difficult and especially muddy obstacles.
On the other hand if I knew that I would have to drive everytime on rocky terrain,in that case I would have installed a locker in the front.
What you ll use ,also depends on the type of terrain most of the time you have to deal with.I believe for 80% rocks-20 % mud lockers all around is the best.
For 80% mud and 20 %rocks ,a rear locker and a front LSD is the best.
Hope this helps.

I was under the impression that you could not put the LSD in the front axle. Calmini clearly states, "Rear axle" for the application. Did you install this yourself?

IN THE X/EC MODEL VITARA
SUZUKI ACTUALLY FITTED REAR LSD'S INTO THEM.
ON SOME OF THESE MODELS THEY EVEN FITTED A FRONT LSD INTO THEM.
DAVE JONES AND MYSELF BOTH RUN GENUINE SUZUKI FRONT AND REAR LSD'S.
THE DIFFERENCE IS VERY VERY NOTICEABLE WITH THEM FITTED ;D

Calmini offers an LSD -10 BOLT (70% or 75%,dont remember)
for the front axle, its the one I have installed in the front axle
PART SK55LS- installation is very easy

I believe Calmini source their LSDs from Suzuki.
