Title: OBD II ???

Do the 1.6L obd II (96 or newer) motors have a switch like the older ones to turn off the check engine light.  Just wondering.  Thanks

No, i use a scanner tool that plugs into the engine harness right behind the pass. side head lamp.

If you don't have the scanner tool, just go visit your local auto parts store.  They usually have computers available for you to use in the parking lot.
