Title: 3" calmini body lift on 1990 tracker how hard to install?
Post by: HumboldtTracker on November 23, 2008, 05:20:41 PM
I just got done installing the front 3'' calmini suspension and I am going to be starting on the back soon.  I am thinking about purchasing the 3'' body lift kit too, and was wondering how hard it is to install.  Also do you have to extend the transfer case gear shift lever or any other cables or wiring.  Any advice would be helpful, thanx.

Check out Acks Faq (http://www.acksfaq.com) and do a search for body lift.  There is an article on there covering the Rocky Road 2" body lift, the theory is the same.  You should be able to do it in the garage.  :)

I believe you have to extend the transfer case shifter and run your shifter boot inverted on the gear shifter, but I could be backwards on that.  How big of tires are you running that you need to do the 3x3 lift?

Personaly I think Calminis body lift isn't such a great design.  I'd go with a home made box section lift if I had to do a 3".

I just did a 2" bodylift this weekend. No need to lenghten anything (this depends on year and model) I did have to bend the shifters forward, but thats all.
