Title: Spacer material
Post by: 92Sidekick4x4 on September 09, 2004, 03:26:22 PM
Hey everyone,

i am planning on doing the budget lift of heather and nates, i have bought the 3 inch square tubing i need and today i went down to a plastic whoel sale place and baught soem material for making the spring spacers, the material i got is exactly the same stuff that is used for spring spacers and they guy said it turns great on the lathe, and isnt too hard so it will be easy to bore the centers out to 2.25", does any one have exact measurments for the inner and outter dimentions?

As far as spring spacers are concerned, the best and cheapest way to deal with it, get spacers for a Jeep TJ, XJ, or ZJ, the front ones. The spacers are cheap, and you just get a whole saw and bore out  the centers. Much easier and cheaper than trying to build them from scratch. And they aren't made from plastic, they are polyurathane. Hope that helps.

Look into some of the online Jeep suppliers or try Rocky-road Outfitters. But, if you can make them, go for it. But, beware, machining that stuff will be messy. ;D

I'd be interested in how you bought it. What kind of company, for example. I'm looking to using this as body lift spacers for the XL7. To add, do you have the MDS (material data sheet) on the product? I work with a couple of chemists and they specialize in adhesives. I'd cut these in half, lift the body of the XL7 high enough for the spacer, then put the 2 pieces together with adhesive. What is the hardness of the material?

Be interested in buyng and shipping to US?
