Title: S10 2.2 in to my sammy ????

I,ve been givin a 2.2 w/5speed   is it worth putting in my sammy?
i have the whole s10 it runs and drives

i have a 96 2wd s10 thet runs and drives   i want more power in my 87 sammy anyone do this swap looking for info

tranny might be a little long, but I would do it.  you'd have an extra 100 hp cant go wrong.  regear the rear end and put that in too

I'm not a GM person  is that motor good  is the bell housing the same as a 4.3l

probably smaller like the 2.8s.  if you can get a 2.8 L 4x4 blazer tranny to mount up it might bethe easiest but do check, I dont know for  sure!!  the 4.4 is a big boltpattern like the 8s.   I'd rather keep the original tranny that came with it and use the samurai tcase, easiest to make work if oyu have room   the sammi is a divorced (separate) transfercase

I'm pulling the motor from the s10 next week so i can start to get ready to do the swap
i have to have it all ready to go  the sammy's my daily driver   thanks for the help

I have a 94 S dime and have though many a times about putting its 2.2 in the samurai.
Seems like it would pull it along pretty good. Hydro clutch on the dime thou, would have to do some work there, unless your keeping the samurai tranny.

working in the auto part world the 2.2 is a good running motor, the only thing i have ever seen go wrong with them is they like to go through timing chains and tensioners.

all good info the clutch i havent figured out yet  i would like to use the sammy if there is an adaptore plate      so the motors a good power plant?    when i do the swap i will try to take pics  got to buy a new camra x-wife got mine
