tranny might be a little long, but I would do it. you'd have an extra 100 hp cant go wrong. regear the rear end and put that in too

I'm not a GM person is that motor good is the bell housing the same as a 4.3l
-
probably smaller like the 2.8s. if you can get a 2.8 L 4x4 blazer tranny to mount up it might bethe easiest but do check, I dont know for sure!! the 4.4 is a big boltpattern like the 8s. I'd rather keep the original tranny that came with it and use the samurai tcase, easiest to make work if oyu have room the sammi is a divorced (separate) transfercase

I'm pulling the motor from the s10 next week so i can start to get ready to do the swap
i have to have it all ready to go the sammy's my daily driver thanks for the help

I have a 94 S dime and have though many a times about putting its 2.2 in the samurai.
Seems like it would pull it along pretty good. Hydro clutch on the dime thou, would have to do some work there, unless your keeping the samurai tranny.

working in the auto part world the 2.2 is a good running motor, the only thing i have ever seen go wrong with them is they like to go through timing chains and tensioners.
