Background:
ZUKIWORLD events are a series of adventures located in North America for ZUKIWORLD online readers and Suzuki 4x4 owners. This means LJ, SJ410, SJ413, Samurai, Sidekick, X-90, Tracker, Vitara, Grand Vitara, XL-7, Equator. If it's a Suzuki 4WD vehicle you qualify! The goal of having ZUKIWORLD events and activities is to meet new people, network in person with Suzuki enthusiasts and nuts, eat good food, bask in the sunshine and drive some of the best, and most picturesque 4 wheel drive trails in the World.
The philosophy of ZUKIWORLD events is to see some "neat" things. There will most likely be some difficult situations, terrain, obstacles, and environment, that we encounter. First and foremost, the ZUKIWORLD adventurer should be prepared and have a good attitude. If your looking for catered meals and 5 star hotels, you will be disappointed. During most of these adventures, we will be camping on the trail, cooking over a fire, and will no doubtedly be dusty and dirty. If this sounds fun to you, sign up now!
Thank you, -Eric

Count me in for Rubicon.

Is this the 2009 Q&A Thread?
I hope I can make it out to a couple events this year, but it may be out of budget. In case I can only afford one event, what the one to shoot for? I'm in Northern California, and wiling to travel to some of the larger events around here ('ZUKFARI in Moab UT (when?), Zukapalooza in Arizona May, PowerFest Oregon October). Which one is the "event to go to" and why? I don't mind driving a few hundred miles as long as there's a good group. I'll have a 4-door on 29" open (can lock if needed), and a 2-door (not sure if Sami or Kick yet) on 35" available. I'm equally happy playing in dunes as I am in rocks.
Thanks for the help.

i wish there was something in the midwest.

need something closer to the middle of canada!!! whistler is to far... 14-16 hour drive... it would be fun... but comeon... someones gotta get something in either the okanogan bc. or somewhere closer to the ab/bc border theres tons of country out there...
-
We were talking about doing the Whipsaw trail and maybe going over Chinahead/Mud Lakes. Not quite central BC but quite a drive for the guys from Oregon.

Yes! This would be cool... What time of year is best? I would think early in the season because the 'skeeters would be real thick in the early fall, right?

man... if it was aug.... taking a trip back to the okanogan for a vacation again this year around then... princeton isnt that far...
first time my trucks will have been back on BC soil... just got it regied in alberta less then 4 months ago... now it gets to take a trip back to its home country.
-
The best time to go over the Whipsaw is usually the last 2 weeks of August and the first week of Sept. The bugs are bad in July and Aug, and sometimes there is still snow on the trail in early July if the winter was bad.
Derek
-
man... that would be sweet... gf and i are looking at going to penticton late aug to visit friends and family... might try and get her to agree to go out that way...
-
Vancouver is only 4 hours from Penticton - not much of a drive. If you did the Whipsaw it would be even less of a drive.

welll... we're acually looking at going to vancouver on that trip as well but dont have alot of time (both of us can only get limited time off work) but i dont know if i will be taking the kick down to vancouver or not.
its just not a highway vehicle... (done the hope princeton to and from vancouver to meny times...)

I would be up for a Naches trip one of these weekends; I know we're into the summer a bit already, but I had a great time there with you ZW guys a few years ago and would like to do it again soon...

Oh! If I live in US... :'(
I think I would go almost every event, cause I've never been there, but unfortunatly it's too far from my country and transporting my Sammi overseas is a bit expensive action.
So the only thing I can do is to wish you all GOOD LUCK!!!
-
Just trying to figure out how apple valley farms is doable in three days?
-
Whistler, whipsaw, harrison (nice hot springs up there), etc......... etc........
This would be GREAT! 8)

Man from where you are it would be cheaper to just come out and buy a Sammy for the event.

Guys Whipsaw is a blast. There isn't much around Whistler. There are a few cool spots near Squamish on the way to Whistler.

Plenty of time to plan for the next one then. :D

If things keep going the way they are, and I don't find a decent job, I may be FREE to do it, just couldn't afford it. Besides, Next time I go out west, the Tracker will be towed or trailered! I need to hook up with someone who's got a truck and trailer to load up and share expenses with.

Last spring at the Zukfari there was some mention made of holding it later in the spring for 2010. So are there any details emerging on that yet? I'm trying to plan my spring and summer vacations to include Zukfari and some other events, so it would be good to know any dates, even if they are preliminary. Thanks!
-
any dates for Powerfest 2010 yet? Want to get it on my calendar...

We could do that for sure. This poll is more to see what people are interested in and that helps guide us in the decision making process for holding new events or revisiting popular activities.

Thanks Eric.
If voting is still open, I would be up for Area 51, Rubicon and Moab.

It's still open... You should be able to vote your choices. Try it out and let me know if how it went.

I think we need a new poll as well. I would also hope to see more than 89 voters when we have a forum membership of over 30K. I think we also need an other category where users can load suggestions. We are only listing what we know or have done in the past. Sure we may not be able to go everywhere but it could expand our horizons.
