Title: I need help
Post by: brace on September 10, 2004, 04:35:24 AM
My 87 tintop is not acting right.  It won't maintain speed or level out without constantly gunning the gas.

A mechanic told me it might be a clogged cat.  I replaced the plug wires and sprayed some wd-40 in the distributor cap hoping that it was moisture.  It just seems like it is not getting gas but it can get up to speed.

I mention this only because I just had a similar problem but are your breaks getting hot?

Crap in the Carb could block the jets,
then pushing the throttle adds fuel and
power, for a moment

Just a thought

Is this carb or FI?

Fuel pump?
Fuel pressure regulator (if FI)?
