anybody ever run these or know anybody running these? it's new tire time and i'm thinking of going with the 32inch radial but have never seen them around or heard anything about them. currently running a 31x9.5 swamper, pretty worn out, over 40000km on them now and 2 don't like holding air that much anymore.. ya, i know trimming will be required to fit'em!

Holy cow didn't even know that they were still selling or making Ground Hawgs! These tires are the 1980's version of a bogger. One of my old bosses had some 44 hawgs, they were loud, bumpy, and not very cheap! His were bias thou, and they did last quite a while on his big old mud puppy.
Im not a big fan of directional tires, if your looking for a 32" radial you can always get some TSL super swampers.
Hope that helps

man there basicly the old school coop tires they do good in the mud, on the road sucks so bad really hard compond my cousin had a set on his yota before he put boggers on it
-
as for the on road issues i'm not overly concerned, these are the new radial version, not the old bias version so should be acceptable..

yeah their little high in price i went with cooper discovery stt's they do awesome off road and on road i drive mine 40 miles a day and it drives great i'm glad i went with them instead of swampers
-
i had cooper mudds before i got my current swampers...... night and day difference, swampers were smoother and quieter on the road and way better off road....

I, too, have to give a big thumbs up to Cooper Stt's. They hook up great offroad, and the onroad manners are pretty good too. I'm about 10k miles on them, and they still look pretty new. The only thing they aren't good for is ice. My .02

lol there aint nothing good on ice unless you got metal spiked tires lol my wife firgure that out last night

ya, thanks, had coopers before..... i know the difference between them and swampers... would never look back to coopers.
anybody else have any 1st hand knowledge of these tires? the ground hawgs that is!

They tear it up in mud and other soft conditions...
Loud and bumpy on road.
That's first hand experience with them, but they were also 44x18.5
What kind of terrain do you wheel in?

I had a set many years ago on my second Sami. THEY WERE TERRIBLE!!! They rode like hell with 5psi in them. They weren't that impressive offroad. One tire took 13 ounces to balance! I was very unhappy with them. Modern tire designs are far superior to those ancient hunks. IMHO get something else.

variety of wheeling terrain, mud, clay, rocks. northern ontario has it all. my swampers aren't that great on rocks, but i'm thinking that may be due to the narrow profile, the 31x9.5 only has a 7.5inch wide tread and most of that is open space between tread.. i don't expect these could be any worse...

Def. want a wider profile for rocks if that is your goal, also interco makes many more suitable tires for what you are looking to get out of them than the hawgs....not a good choice for what you are looking to do. my 2 cents

i guess we can trash this thread, the price is retarded for these, the guy from the tire shop (national4wd) had the same opinion as everybody else, not recommended.. probably stick with radial swampers. thanks.
