Post by: Asbury030 on January 01, 2009, 01:41:57 PM
Ok so I want to take the body off the frame of my samurai. I was just wondering what all I have to do to get this accomplished?

haha I know that. Like do I have to take the motor out and the dash and how many bolts are there and where at? Im new to this as you can tell. What I wanna do is sand down the frame repaint it and put bed liner on it.

I believe the FSM covers it.

You have to pull the electrical running from the engine into the dash, the shifter, clutch and speedo cable need to be disconnected, and the emergency brake.  Radiator will have to be pulled along with where the steering box connects (the rag joint).  Then just unbolt everything like on a body lift.

I would just start lifting it up slowly at that point and see what you missed.  :)

note "the body to the frame"..   theres quite a few little things like vent hose to cannisterground wires fuel filler hose  but, he said bolts to frame
