I'm thinking of going dual -cases and fitting 35" tires on my 4door vitara/sidekick. I've seen plenty of trackicks on 33 and some on 34s but not many on bigger.
I think I can make them fit, but I'd love to hear from someone that has done it.

keeping IFS?

keeping IFS?
Oh sorry, yes, keeping IFS, about 3" suspension and 2" body lift, and trimmed arches.
What i'm worried about is that I have to cut so much of the firewall that I get limited clutch travel. And the rear doors looks a bit close when I meassured.

Here is a sidekick that is nested atop of some 35's with IFS.
A duel T-case would help out a lot, i think its called a kicker 3....which ever one adds a samurai T-case behind a kick case.

Hope that helps some what.

I have Calmini 3 + 3 on my 4 door Tracker.
It clears 32's pretty good with a little trimming in the front fender inner lip and plastic.
The rears clear with no problem.
I would like to run 35's too, but I don't think they would fit. Or, better yet, I don't think they would fit if you wanted to wheel it.
Driving around, yes, but you would still need to trim the Rear Opening and there really isn't too much room where the rear doors shut and the rear fenderwell meet.
I think I could run 33's easy enough, but the 35's might be too tight unless you just want to ride around or do mud.
If you do it, take pictures. I want to see how well they fit. ;)
Mike may have some input as he and his friends run BIG tires on their Track/Kick's.
-
Thanks for the input guys.
I've been reading up on this all evening, and starting to doubt that I could pull off 35s, it will just be to tight in the front.
Mabye I should stick to 33s, but the gearing will be more off with the dual cases then. I'd like to be able to do 65mph atleast.

Dave Jones (Bob/K9RDJ) on Shropshire Suzuki will be able to help you out. He ran 35s for a short time and most likely still has all the pics. I do know that he had to modify the front body mounts. He broke a lot of diffs and shafts running them.

The Front will be the Easy part for 35's.
The Rear however will be difficult as there is not too much body to trim without getting into the rear door jamb.
Try to find some pictures of Mikerpm4X4's rig. I know Mike was running 35's Krawlers on his 2 door. Back when it had a regular appearance. ;)

ifs w35s good luck 33s the limit

Mike is running 39" with IFS. trim the front and move the rear axle back.

Hoping he will respond over there.
I've got 2" body and 2" suspension on now with 30" and I know I can clear 31" with minor trimming and mabye 33s with a bit of effort, but 35s are huge... A friend got a CJ with 33s, going to get over to him next weekend and try them out and see what needs to be done.

Mike is running 39" with IFS
Mike has a million hours in fab time and his front end is totally custom and that is why he can run the big wide tires he does. 33" tires are too big for any Suzuki IFS in a vehicle that wheels. Maybe on the street... The aluminum housing needs to be replaced with a steel one, the axles need to be swapped and then maybe you can get the front end to live wheeling with 33's or 35's if you are really nice to it.

The plan is GV steel housing, I already got 26spline diff with an ARB and possibly toyCVs for the front.
And I'm really easy on my stuff.
More worried about the rear shafts actually. Broken rear shaft = not able to drive home.
My initial question was more on the lines of how to physically fit large tires.

You may want to do a little research on that.
In Moab 2005, Mike was running the Calmini Anvil and 35's. He was USING IT too. I don't think he knows the term Being Nice to It. ;)
I have Zig's old parts. He was running 33's with the Anvil too.
Stan, 37kicker, was running 39's.
All IFS rigs.
Mike and his Friends run Big Tires and are Beating their Rigs all the time.

Is this the Mike Hagen I keep hearing about? Or - different Mike?

Yes Hagen

Oh, sweet. I'll look for more of his posts on this. I've got another thread going on another forum asking how he did some of his custom IFS stuff. I too want to keep my IFS, run 35" tires and the Dual cases reliably... but no one over there seems to know how :'(

Hey I'm looking to do the same thing so check out this link

My main concern is axle strength!

Spotted your rig last week, looks nice! I'm a it worried about axle strength to. I will not be running such an agressive thread as you. I'm thinking AT tires.

wow this is quite lucky i was just about to post a question on this. I have considered the question above, but maybe my circumstances are diff. i run 30's now they do great and take me everywhere i can fit my zuke. The problem is my kicker still looks small, and bigger looks better. i started building my kicker again and will be showing pics soon, but i have 3" suspen, and 2" body, i plan to trim the tire wells all the way to the inner fender, so its flush with the door jams in the back and flush in the front. i want to squeez 33's becasue i like those the best. i already have all the mods you can do the engine and 5;12 gears as of now i can go 75 easy, and am concerned how you guys say you can only get to 65. since i am more of an engine knowledge guy please give some advie on this... i dont beat my truck i have done the hardest trails at evans creek and florence, and windchester sand dunes, this truck as of now sees more pavment than trail, but more input would be amazing
