OK looking at my 1997 4 door Tracker im like WTF how do you guys attach Roofracks to theses Trackers ???
I dont want to Drill holes in the Roof. Theres a Rubber strip that sticks up near the Edges running front to back.
I was thinking of makeing something that can Clamp onto that.
But im not sure if it wouldnt just rip off and tear the Rack and rubber strip right off.
I figger the guys with Racks must have them Attached Somehow.

Take that rubber seal off. Lay flat plate against the rib and drill holes through both. I used 4 plates and 2-.25" bolts in each. I think they are 4" wide and 4" tall .125 thick. Then just wels the rack to the plates. You can cut the rubber trim out where the plates are and it will reattach without ever seeing the bolts. I'll get pics and post.

Hey Jeff Thanks eh! thats great! ;D
I never knew there was a Flange sticking strait up under the Rubber.
The holes dont Leak when it rains eh?
I guess some calking on the bolts wouldnt hurt.

Yep i am Canadian !
why do you say that tho eh!
is it cause we dont know to look under the Rubber stripping

It can't leak there is no hole in the roof just into that flange. If you already have the factory roof rack there will be 8 holes in the roof. Just put plugs with silicone on them. I did and they have not leaked yet.
