alright i have a 96 2d tracker and i have $1100 to go towards a lift..i am debating on gettin the 6" calmini combo or the RR rock steady kit. i want to at least fit 32s and im kinda leaning toward the calmini kit but it seems like you have to do alot of modifing to put it on..anyone have any suggestion on what i could do to with that amount of money? :-\ ???
-
You could buy my 2" coil spacers and save about $950 to put to a better use.
-
There sohuld not be much modifying to put on the 3" Suspension lift and only the shifters and steering shaft for the body lift (both fairly easy mods) for th ebody lift.

Get the Calmini lift, tell them you DON'T want the shocks or struts, then order the OME struts and shocks from any other vendor. You'll be happier! ;)

woulndt that cost alot more??

If I remember correctly, Calmini will knock off $100 if you don't get their shocks and struts. Ome's will cost more than twice that amount, about $120 each for the struts, not sure on the shocks, but worth EVERY penny, and you'll have the best of both.

I'd do Jeff's spacers 2" in the front for 3", and OME 955 coils in the back with Jeff's 1.5" spacers... do a rocky-road 2" body lift and run 31s like I did... Save your money for bumpers and other fun stuff...
Oh and jeff strut spacers and crown vic shox?

But you could get jeffs lift, and your tires with your 1100 ;) decisions decisions!

ha yeah to many decisions lol

Honestly, I wish I had 1100 skrilla... hmmm the fun I could have with that!

ha yeah to many decisions lol
well let me ask you a few questions and Ill see if I can help.
Do you plan on daily driving it?
what are your goals off road if any?
what are you going to do to re gear for 33's??
finally how often will you hit the trails??
Rocks?? Mud???

well yeah it iwll be my daily driver..around where i live there is alot of mud not to many rocks to crawl or anything..and probably wheel it about every weeked and even during the week and im planing on going with 32s? so you think i have to re-gear for 32s? i just want to have some good ground clearance mainly...im the only person out of all my freinds that doesnt have a lifted vehical so i just want something to keep up with them..

www.aftermarket4x4.com, i recently purchased a 2'' spacer kit with strut extensions from him for $140.00, not too bad, i am going to get them ups to me today. It includes 2'' spacers for rear, 1.5'' spacers for front and the front strut extension all for |removethispart|@140.00 and you retain the stock ride quality, for me that was the best bang for the buck, but i just want to run 29x10.50-15 trxus sts radials, so i dont need to go higher. without lowering the front axle assembly you are running the risk of putting a bind on the cv-shafts, so keep that in mind also, i would do what i did, then add a 3'' body if you need more beyond that. that combination would build you a good 5'' kit with good ride, and on a budget, then spend the remainder on your tires!!!

sorry about that! I cant read!! hahaha for some reason I thought you said 33's!! Not many rocks, and daily driving it I would go with a budget lift for a few reasons.
the calmini lift is a great setup when paired with the OME springs and struts, but i would only recommend it if you are looking to get the most articulation out of the IFS. for example (rocks) or strictly and off road rig.
also, daily driving, plus what you said about mud, equals daily driving mud terrain 32's which will cost you a lot of money due to mud terrains wearing fast on pavement. (not talking you out of doing it!) i love the sound of some huge boggers screaming down the road!
and lastly, my recommendation!
Jeffs full kit, strut, differential, and spring spacers
Boondox 3" body lift (i reccomend this kit after buying the calmini kit and seeing that the boondox kit comes with pre bent/welded extensions ) they do the most work for you!
looking at:
jeffs kit 150?? dont quote me on that
boondox 3" body lift 185
prices plus shipping.

Just so everyone else knows, my diff spacer is for the REAR not the front. Just trying to avoid any confusion. ???

I'm running Jeff's Spacers. 1.5's in front, 2" in back. I've flipped my strut mounts, but I need to order jeffs spacers so I can get some more droop. Crown Vic shocks in the rear. I also run a RR 2" BL. I ran 31x10.5's on 8" rims with 3.75" backspacing with just the coil spacers. Now that I've got the BL on, I've test fitted a set of 32's and 33's with no rubbing issues (I've trimmed my fenders), and will be running 33's as soon as I get some tcase gears and different set of wheels. For the budget minded and daily driven, it doesn't get much better than this. Little Booger does pretty decent offroad, too. Considering I have $2,200 in my entire rig (including vehicle purchase), and the guys i wheel with got $10k+.
I'd go this route and spend the money you have left on a spool/locker, or rock sliders, or bumpers, or cheap winch (Smittybuilt 8k for ~$400), or put it towards Tcase gears. Add any of these items to your TracKick with 32's and the added ground clearance they bring, and you'll be better off than having $1,1000 in just your lift.
Just my .02.

You just described my EXACT setup. I love it! Do you have any issues with the caliper hitting the spring at full turn?
