Hey wuts crakin guys and gals you prob know my kicker a little but if not i planned on sellin her a lil while ago but decided to take it further on making her one of a kind. I got some extra cash and plan on getting her ready for the summer. i plan to make some customizations but need to know what might happen if i do this. So fare this is what i have.
3" suspension, 2" body, 30" mts, Full exhaust, trimmed fenders just to name the important.

I want to beef up the tread butt keep it IFS for now, some ideas i want to run by you is 33" tires, VW deisle engine, baja doors, custom pre-runner bumpers(front and back)
I know some about the tire issue, and that i may need to strengthen the axles, excet. but what if i just do moderate wheeling for now! Just until i turn suzi into a pure trail truck.
Please any input would be appreciated. thanks

Well with a 3inch susp and a 2 inch body you should be able to run 31's and prob 32's, A buddy of mine has 2inch coil spacers and a 2.5 inch body and he is running 33's on his 4 door. I would just upgrade to 31's or 32's and install some 4.24.1 t case gears first before the bumpers. As far as the VW engine swap, I know nothing about. Ive heard of people running 31-33's with no axle problems.

I run 32" TSL's on my truck with 5" of lift without any problems. The VW engine is nice for wheelin', but doesn't have the top end of the stock motor. From what I have heard 50 mph is about all you will get out of it. I've got a front locker and t-case gears to put in over the winter - try that combo and you will be pretty impressed.

derek i have talked to you before, wut width in 32's i was thinking the same but those 33's are so easy to come by used. but i could rock 32's. where are these 4;24 gears, i thought they were disontinued. i am thinking of a better cam. and no cat i already havethe long tube try header and 2.5 pipe and preformance exhasut and i am going to mess with my cold air intake to get more power. i just think the bumpers are holding my truck back from recognition. people think its cute on the road and sick off the road, it gets judged before they see it wheel.

the vw diesel conversion seems cool to do thats what i want to do with my sammy would you be putting the 1.6 or the 1.9? i would be very intersted if you end up doing it to see how it goes for you and get more research on it.

Hey, good to see you back on the board. I thought you had already sold the Tracker, she looks good as always. :)
BRD HNTR is doing some fun things for beefing up his front end while staying IFS. You can check it out at http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=22395.15 We need to get a good set of splines for the next experiment though...

You could consider 235/85/16s on GV rims, they are around 32". If you want the drivetrain to last then the narrower width tyre helps. You get the ground clearance but less transmission wind up than a 12.5" or similar tyre.
The early VW motor is a dog, something like 45bhp. My brother had later parts fitted to his but it still only makes 53bhp. Later turbo motors are better but you need to get the gearing right, the bigger tyres will help.

ya i questioned those motors a little. I know they make torque but i need speed too :police:. but my buddy works at speed factory and has a 525 hp civic hatch runs 10.1's hes talkin to the shop guys to see what can happen to my 1.6. with a ram horn manifold and WRX top mount intercooler runin 8lbs it might work. but i plan on buying a welder. never realy welded except in school, what amp should i need for making tube pre runner bumpers and stuff like that. I am so stoked to start working on this again hard to pay attention in college anymore keep dreamin up knew ideas.
Does anyone know about the cam idea i ran by?

Check low range offroad or Trail-tough they still have the gears. ;)

Hells ya my cam is gettin machined ;D im sending it off to a cam shop and they are going to to a torque grind!! i was thinking of doing a hp grind, but lets face it these cars are ment to stay slow lol.
