Title: t-case gears opinions

I'm looking at 6.?:1 t-case gears who's r  better     The price seams to range from $500 - $800 just looking for feed back it's a lot of money to get junk
I'm running a 87' sami  stock gears  33" swamper SSR's

You can buy 6.5s with a lifetime warranty for $475 through Low Range, I believe it is.  Can't beat that deal.  There are a lot of people that run those gears and I don't think you'll hear anyone complain about the quality.

I the trail gear 6.5:1 gears, been beating on them...nothing broken and the low range is nice and low.

Only "complaint" I've head is some people notice gear whine. But, that seems to be the case no matter who's gears you go with. I've never heard of people popping gears yet. It's usually the T-case itself that breaks, not the gears. Get a good bucket or ring to help re-enforce it.

thanks for the help  Any tool other  than hand tools needed to put them in  i like buying new tools  :laugh:

They do whine...more so in low range, but that's the case when a gear gets to winging at 10,000+ RPM.

Some gear/bearing pullers and a good press make life quite a bit easier, other than that installing the gears are relatively easy.
Have you thought about twin sticks also? If so while you have the T-case apart you would want to pull one of the detent balls to allow the sift rails to move independently.

sounds like for tools I'm covered :(       




As for shifter I'm looking at Low Range S-shifter over the twin shifters   Looking at about $750 for gears shifter kit and t-case shifter knob
