Title: Are all 5 speeds the same?

I have a '99 Chevy Tracker and need an input shaft. I'm thinking I will check the salvage yards and maybe just look for the whole tranny. Are all generation 2's the same and will the Vitari's work also?

check part number at the dealer and compair
