alright my tail gate is driving me crazy!!! every little bump i go over it feels like its going to fall off..and on the old logging roads up here its just ridiculosy loud..but i checked everything and its tight and it still rattles..anyone have the same problem?

I fought that for two years. I started putting the spare tire inside when offroading because it was so infuriating. I tried everything, adding rivets to the outer skin and the inside supports and wedges in any internal gaps between inside supports and exterior skin. I adjusted my latches many times. Nothing seemed to work. Then I hit upon the solution. I added a additional rubber spacer to the bottom of the tire. The back door has two rubber spacers at top of the back door for the tire. I used a extra rubber spacer that I got from a junkyard. I put it in the 6 O'clock position with a sheet metal screw. That fixed it and I have been offroading for years without a problem. I even now carry a 31x10.5x15 tire on a moddified stock mount and it works even with that heavy tire.

I had this happen to me after putting a larger M/T tire and rim on the spare tire rack. It did fine for a while and then it started making more and more racket. I ended up taking the plastic cover off of the inside of the tailgate and made a new cover out of 3/16" wall board, screwed it in where the plastic cover was and then filled with several cans of insulating foam. It worked! You gotta be careful though because the foam will work its way down to the drain holes in the bottom of the tailgate. I covered them with quack tape. 8)
