Is it common for the tranny input shaft to get a grove where the pilot bearing rides? where can i get a new in put shaft?
-
Yeah, it is pretty common. What I have done to get around buying a new input shaft is run a wider pilot bearing that will ride on the unworn parts of the shaft.

Mine was all worn down like that too, i was bummed when i found out i had to fork out even more cash on my transmission.
Something like this?
