Title: Bought a 3 inch suspension CALMINI Lift for my tracker Need Advise Please
Post by: dingus on February 11, 2009, 04:20:19 PM
OK i took the Plunge i bought a Calmini 3 inch Suspension Lift for my 1997 LSI 4 door Tracker.

My question is i have a set of Jeffs Coil spacers. Now Jeff says they will fit right in the Calmini Springs BUT is that gona effect my Camber will i need special Camber bolts ect  ???
Im gona put on a Calmini full winch Bumper and a Warn 8000i winch + the nice Back Bumper with the swing out tire Rack.

Should i just save the Coil spacers for the Wifes 2 Door tracker and just go with the 3 inch Sus Lift without adding the Coil Spacers?

I know some guys have both but one fellow is Blowing Axles ect.

Any Advise would be much Appreciated.

I got the compleat kit Delivered to my House for $1495 Can funds thru a local company. Thats way cheeper than me trying to Import myself with our Dollar at like 80 Cts right now.
The Place has the Calmini full Bush bumpers for $765 Can funds to so im gona grab one of them.

I would highly recommend leaving the kit as is and running the spacers on the wufes rig. They will put your ride height at more extreme of CV angles, and you will loose down travel causing stiffer a ride in the bumpy stuff. I trued getting a little more lift and a little more wheel travel  out of my 3" kit with 'bolt on' items for a long time before realizing that it performs best as is. Unless your going to go all out (new CV',widening the front end) the extra ride height will trash your CV's if your going to wheel it much.

Dingus, I said they would fit in the coil. I did not reccomend you actually use them  ;D Zukipilot is right, I'd leave the kit as is, using my spacers on top will be sure CV death. I'd just save em for the wife's ride. How cool is that, your wife drives a zuk too. I'm laid off temp. so my wife is driving the Superzuki to work and I'm keeping the skinnyvan for the kids. She says she doesn't like driving it but I think secretly, deep down it excites her!!  >:D

When I did the widening on mine, that's when I needed the spacers to get back the ride hight.

Other wise, install as is.

I might get some bigger ones like 30s down the Road tho.
The 3 inch lift Sus Lift will be lots hey?

I just came into some Extra money thats why i bought the Calmini lift.
At frist i was just gona do the coil lift but im hopeing this Sus lift will be a bit better.

1.5" is more than enough clearance for 29" tires - depending on the brand, you may not need a lift at all. Many people report running 29" swampers with no rub. Going sky-high with your lift will:
* Put additional stress on the CV
* Raise the center of gravity
* Look silly if the tires are too small for the lift

Look here for various tire / lift combos: http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=35.0 (http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=35.0)

The first year I had my 3" Calimini lift I was running 235/75 R15.  The truck looked good and performed well.

The front end was a little stiff.  Didn't have any CV problems until I went with 32's and 4.24:1 T-Case.

This is what im Going for in lift with my 3 inch Sus Calmini lift.
I am putting on the heavyer Front and Rear Bumpers thats why i went to the Calmini liftinstead of just the Coil spacers.
I think the Weight up front (cause my ride sits low in the front now) with the 3 inch calmini will be Ex.

We will see i will post pics when shes all done  :)
