Title: Panhard Yes or No ?

Ok so here the deal. My 86 has a lost link with wrangler springs duetechs, Etc

I called Brett at trail Tough about a panhard and he said NO WAY !!! It will bind
and cause nothing but problems.

Its a great article using the same setup I have.

So who do I listen to............Well You. My know it all friends at Zuwharrie. isnt that why were here.

So telle me, Do you have one. do they work ? Is spidertrax worth the $300.00

The Sammy I wheel with got rid of his Panhard bar when he switched to YJ springs because it bound up to much, killed his travel.  Then again, he just switched to Hydro assist...  :D

Are you seeing a lot of steering wander?  What are you trying to fix?

If it's driving like crap on the road, a popular 'fix' is to bolt the second shackle closed. This greatly helps reduce spring wander and thus, Samurai wander...

Yes on the steering wander.
Its a great ride but tends to start rocking back and forth at highway speed. 

Eric, What do you mean by bolt the second shackle closed ?

A well designed pan hard shouldn't bind.

Up front where the two shackles are. The second shackle rest against a "landing pad" with a strip of wear material on it. It is possible to drill a hole straight down through the "landing pad" and the shackle and then put a bolt through the assembly. What this does is lock that second shackle to the chassis and set the rig up like a more traditional single shackle ride. This will help with wonder. If you have them (double shackles) on the back, you can do the same thing. These will help with on-road manners.
