Title: Tailgate Fitting for Sidekick

Will a tailgate from a 98 Sidekick fit on a 96? Im pretty sure they're interchangeable I just want to double check.

Also I would like to know if a tailgate from a 98 or 97 sport would fit in my 96. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just have a regular jx model.

Not sure about the Sport, but you should be good swapping between standard versions.  The only thing that really changes is the soft top mounting on the back.  96-98 are the same, 89-95 are the same.  Between them you should just have to swap out your mounting hardware on the top of the tailgate.

Yeah Okay thanks I thought so. I have a 4 door. I asked about the sport too because the guy I'm buying it from didn't tell me if it was a sport or not. He's not sure he just has the door the truck is gone.

The soft tops are the same from 89-94 and 95-98....not that it applies to you, just FYI.
I am pretty sure the rear door from any 89-98 trackick will interchange (even the sports).
