I was wondering how hard of a job it is to remove the input shaft on a 5 speed transmission out of a 90' sidekick transmission? It shows a little wear on the shaft where the pilot bearing runs. I will either build up the worn spot and machine it back on the surface grinder or I will turn it on the lathe. or I will buy a new one if I have to.
just wondering how much of a job it is.
Thanks,
Raz

I don't think it's worth your effort, get a new bearing and call it good, otherwise, you have to take the
whole trans apart to get the shaft out

I haven't taken apart a trackick transmission before, but i have have had a sami tranny apart. I had the same problem you are having, my input shaft was pretty worn out.
I just had to pull the tranny then split it in half, a couple snap rings later and i had the input shaft out.
