And they are even studdable for us northern guys !
-
I would go with hammered black. LOOks good.
That is what I am doing my bumpers and sliders with........
-
I say black like the front, looks better with the top too!
Just don't ask me 'bout the body color!! *shudders*
-
I know, I know, the color is nasty . But the price was right and has minimal rust for Iowa. I have a friend that will be painting his race care here soon and I think we are going to have a painting party.
What is hammered black ?

Flat black. Or get a can of spray on bedliner from autozone. I did my tube bumpers with it and it turned out good. You can paint over it too. Just an idea
-
I would go neon green. That way maybe they wouldn't notice the body color.
Its sad but here in IL (just like in Iowa) about the only ones that survive the rust belt are the barbie kicks. I guess the women that bought them must garage them. However, most I've seen all have hard tops and are well maintained. Hey, I just installed pink tracker seats in my black tracker cause they were in perfect shape and came out of a white tracker (pink underneath) that I parted and junked.
Nice tires. What did those run? Flat black I like on my axles, leafs, frame, but a little shine for the wheels looks good. Amazingly enough I like the look of my black tracker with my stock gloss white sammy rims with Cooper ST 235s. The white kinda pops. I just put new 205s on my stock tracker rims with the hammered silver stock color and I like that too. With that body color though I prefer the look of the stock hammered silver like the rear rim in your pic. Seems to show off the tire a little better.

you have seen it at ace, home depot, etc.it is a black paint with a texture to it. think of cast iron kind of. would look cool on the rims. and also, sweet tires! what was the price?

I got the tires from Stone Tire , they are retreads . I got them for $40 a piece.
I haven't tried retreads before but I thought I would try some.
Thanks,

I had a couple of cans of semi flat /semi gloss whatever you want to call it . Is painted them with it . Pics sometime today.
I think the tires are going to dig in the mud which I wanted.

Street legal ? Of course and they even have holes for studs for the winter, which is helpful for Iowa winters.

It is true , it needs a paint job . Problem is that I don't know how to paint , so it would have to be painted with spray bomb rustoleum . Anyone ever done a decent paintjob with spray cans ?
Thanks,
Raz
And no, I didn't paint the tires, I used a cardboard cutout .

You can do a decent paint job with cans, but you'll need quite a few cans to make even coats. I had a T-bird when I was a kid that was painted charcoal gray by the previous owner in his yard. No clearcoat at all. I rubbed it out and it shined pretty good, but it must have taken alot of cans to get it right. :P
These models were all painted with cans. They're 1/24 scale and the cans are small but it took like 2-4 cans to paint, then clear. Not sure how many cans it would take to get a decent looking paintjob full scale but it can be done.
And yes I was lookin for any excuse to post pics of my models. ;)
