OK, wantin to get rid of my spacers, and go all coil in my tracker. That being said, I currently have stock springs and 2" spacers.
I have Bronco2/Ranger stock front coils to swap into the front. I know I have to cut off the pig tails to get em to fot in there. I think that'll be enough to take care of the front lift.
In the rear, looking at 14"x2 5/8" coilover springs with 160 lbs/in. I know the spring mounts will have to modified, and I have a plan for that, so don't worry!
My main concern is in the rear, do you think the 14" coils will turn out to be too long? I think the stock coils are only 10", but I also know the spring rate has been increased due to the spacer. So, if I got with a longer coil, with close to the same spring rate, it will sage a bit more, correct? Which will make up some of that 2" difference between springs, right?
Let me know what you think of all this!!

Actually the coil spacer didn't affect the spring's rate at all. At most all it did was pre-load the spring which mainly affects the ride height. If you had longer shocks on there to make up for the spacers, then you didn't even affect preload with the spacers, just ride height. If you keep the spring's rate close to the same as stock, it will ride the same as stock and the difference in spring length will be roughly the amount of lift. If you want them to sag a little to help make up for being longer, you will want to get springs with a lighter rate...

160 is way too light, and if you want a 3" lift
in the rear a 16" spring is in order, as well as
about 200-225 Lb rate, the more wraps a coil
has the softer it will ride.
I would think a larger Dia spring would be the
way to go.

REALLY. I wanna keep the narrower springs, for space saving reasons. YOu think if I Used a 14" spring, the 2 5/8", and a higher rate, like the 225, it would work ok? These aprings are inexpensive also. Only like $50 for a set of 2!

Stock is around 150... if the vehicle remained the same weight as stock, wouldn't 160 be fine in the rear for a lift? 200-225 seems like it would be too stiff to me... anyone know what the Calmini springs are as far as spring rate?

I use cheerokee sport front coils in the rear of the real red wagon they work very well however because of there length a 4" spacer was nessecary on the third member. I use broncoII/ranger coils on the front but I didn't cut them I lowered the front crossmember 4" and droped the diff and struts acordingly this set up works very well on the trail but is a little soft on the street

Should be interesting to see how badly the alignment is screwed then!!!
O well, I have about $0 invested in the springs. ;D
The rears will cost me $50 + shipping tho.......so I Need to make an informed decision on those tho.

dont know calmini but im running 150 lbs in the rear and they are a little solft but i dont think i would go over 175lbs .

Stock spring is 156.5 Lbs/inch
I have seen a RRO spring kit on
a Sammy, 175 lb springs, very soft
very flexy, not good as a street
driver, and they were the 2-5/8"
size springs too, I think a longer
spring is going to ride softer and
a higher rate is better, the rear of
a Track/Kick is a bit soft under hard
wheeling, IMHO

I too am in need of picking a new rear spring ...
I'm confused tho ... wildgoody you say 160 is too light yet stock is 156.5? are you saying a 16" at 160 is good or not?
I don't wanna spend a lot (who does), and just wanna have a near stock (perhaps even softer) ride in the rear but eliminate the spacers ...
cheerokee sport front coils? ranger coils? I hear about lots of options, but dunno what way to go.
Some specifics about my rig today. It's stock rear coils, 1.75" spacers. Adding a 2" diff spacer, and have longer shocks. Right now, the shocks are so long that at full flex, the springs will fall out without limit cables. I'd like to eliminate the limit cables. So I guess I want a long spring with a soft/stock rate ???

I heard Grand Cherokee rear coil springs
So, I'll be trying those here perty soon
I checked out the front springs and they were the same hieght as the stock kicks were.
Rear springs sat 4 inches taller.
If I remember right.
Don't have them with me at this moment.

OK, I'm gonna take the plunge then! 14x2 5/8, 185 lbs/in.
B2 springs in the front, and I will go from there!!!!!
If I don't like it, then screw it, I'll just go back to the way it was before hand! 8)

I got a set of XJ or YJ, I can't keep them
straight, but I got them from Heather and

for me anyway, but then again you see what

i'm a newbie here, so be kind ;D
i've heard that grand vitara coils will drop right in and give you about a 2" lift. i've done a search here, but didn't find any info.
but i've read it on other bbs.
any thoughts on this?
as i have a 94 tracker and i want to lift it too.
