Post by: ack on March 14, 2009, 07:47:56 AM: I run my 30" BFG AT/KOs at 35 pounds. It tends to make the ride a bit harsh, but the mileage is good and the wear across the width of the tire is even. This is on a 1.6 Samurai that is not overly modded... maybe 2350-2450 lbs curb weight.

Thanks for the response it contained helpfull info such as pressure, size, tire wear, and ride comfort.

I just went down to 32 pounds and am going to try that for a while. Mother and father inlaw have a ZR2 (with factory 215/75/15s) and she was complaining about the rough ride so I took them down to 28 pounds (which I beleive is the factory specs) and she likes the ride much better.

Factory on 4 door ZR2 I think is 26psi. The same as the other Trackers, LT and so fourth with 215/70/R15.

heavy road tires, i run 20psi on the road, and as low as 10psi off.
no daily driving, and 55mph is about as good as it gets.
handles fine and i see no funny wear.
i removed the front stabilizer and don't miss it at all either.
i seem to get ok gas mileage and can carry enough.

Post by: CG98x on March 15, 2009, 04:30:37 AM: 215/85/16s been runnin about 20lbs for better traction throughout the winter they have worn even and the ride is pretty good but there is a little sway with a tire this tall and skinny with only 20 lbs in it and mileage is down maybe 1 mpg.

My "new" '02 ZR2 4-door sez 26 pounds on the tire placard located on the driver's door post.

BTW, this is my 4th Suzuki-based truck... I'll be selling a '96 Tracker and a '93 Sidekick 4-door soon... The neighbors are getting restless

Negligible tire wear and MUCH better ride quality than with higher pressures. ;)

I am '01 GV H25, stock but for BFG AT T/A ko's 215/70/16's, K&N in the air box, Magnaflow secondary cat and muffler with 2.25 inch pipe, new KYB stock struts and gas-a-justs. (Wow, did that raise my COG!)

Stock pressure is 26 for the original Duelers. I run 34-36 road for mileage, and even tire wear. They are 6 ply with 3 ply sadewall. If I get into deeper snow or a bit of mushy roadbed (no deep sand or mud, and no rock ckimbs), I can drop that to whatever is nec, but NEVER lower than 24 as the stiff tires don't do well below that, at least so far. If I am going off road, I always take my air tank.

At 36#, the ride is harsh on many Oregon roads and highways, but the new suspension parts make it hard to determine attribution right now. Obviously much better dampening of spring travel/compression.

I should point out that as the tires wear and stretch, the pressure issue changes somewhat with the increased flexibility. My tires are new second set, near 45k miles on first ones.

Then again I don't ride in the back seat lol...
