Title: Sidekick ball joints, how hard and how much?
Post by: AJMBLAZER on August 25, 2004, 06:06:17 AM
Looking at a 97 Sidekick JLX Sport 4X4 for the fiance.  Good little truck but among other things I think it needs new balljoints at least on the p-side.  How much do they run and how hard are they to do yourself?

I dont think they are very hard but it depends on your mechanical knowhow.

******Just make sure you keep presure on the spring**** (a-arm)

loosen the nut that goes threw the spindle but dont take it all the way off most of the time if i use a bar I can pop it off by striking the casting with a hammer then just remove the other three bolts and pull the old one out.

At least thats how I do it :P

I had my mechanic replace them, since I have no know how about that stuff.  Cost me alot...I can't remember but $300CDN comes to mind for parts and labour.
