Hey guys,
I am doing my custom SAS it is turning out unbelievably well....
Just finishing up the front on this and need info asap....
What is the length of the auto rear drive shaft flange to slip yoak?
What is the length of the manual rear drive shaft flange to slip yoak?
I stretched my front a little and want to avoid running a spacer.... Well, it would be a giant spacer... that sounds scary!!!
Thanks in advance!
Jerry!!!

Well, assuming that you are asking about 3 speed auto and manual driveshafts....I will tell you they are the same length, since a 3 speed auto and a 5 speed manual tranny is the same length.
I have posted up various driveshaft lengths over on zuwharrie in the IFS section (I don't think I've posted them over here, though)....and I'm too lazy to go search for my post, ::) but if you want to, the info should be in my post over there.

Same lengths? Huh... I know the 4door kicks are different lengths I just guessed the 2 door were as well... I was surprised to learn this and that the tcase shifters were different also... But this may be with the other auto trany....

Yeah the 4 door auto and manual tranny driveshafts are different lengths because the 4 doors have the 4 speed auto trannys which are longer than the 3 speed and manual.
The only difference in tcase shifters I have ran across is the bend of the shifter. They still interchange, just the angle of the shifter is a little different. This is based on 89-98 trackicks....not sure about 99 and up ones.

Sounds like you know your stuff.... I guess I will have to search your other thread information...

Boy O' Boy, You have like 223 pages of previous posts over there.... I was hoping to look into your previous topics..... I will continue to search, but if any body has a measurement, feel free to post it///

If I remember right, the 2 door drive shaft, shaft only, not the ends is
30 or 31 inches, I can measure it tomorrow, but this is really close

HaHa, yeah, I've posted a "few" times over there.
If you would have searched for "driveshaft" and narrowed the search to my username only, it was the third result. :P
Anyway, here is the snippet from my post from over there...................
The 3 speed auto and the 5 speed manual trannys are the same length. The 4 speed auto is about 4 inches longer.
A SWB, 2wd with a 3 speed auto has a rear driveshaft length of 38.5" center to center on the ujoints.
A SWB, 4wd with a 3 speed auto has a rear driveshaft length of 28 3/8" center to center on the ujoints.
A LWB, 2wd with a manual tranny has a rear driveshaft length of 50.5" center to center on the ujoints....it is a 2 piece type driveshaft, it has a center support crossmember towards the front half of the driveshaft.
A LWB, 4wd with a manual tranny has a rear driveshaft length of 39.5" center to center on the ujoints.
I do now have a LWB (4 door), 4wd, with a 4 speed auto tranny......I'll try to get out in the next few days to get a measurement for that driveshaft.....it should be about 4 inches shorter than the one with the manual tranny.

I assume there may be some differneces in the front shafts also...

There wouldn't be quite as many variations on them, but there would be a couple of different lengths. 2 door front shafts (all) and 4 door 5 speed front shafts should all be the same length, then the 4 door 4 speed auto shafts should be about 4" longer than the others.

So 4 dr 4 speed auto front will be 4 inches longer... that may be what I need then I will re measure some things tomorrow....
