Title: Clutch Problem
Post by: Rileysowner on April 03, 2009, 12:26:36 PM
My '93 Sunrunner has sat for about 8 months as I have been working on the body.  I am still not done, but needed to move it yesterday.  I started it up, no problem, but when I tried to engage the clutch, nothing.  I feel what seems like the normal amount of resistance on the pedal, but it will not disengage or re-engage anything.  It was working fine when I last moved it, so what could it be?

Probably the cable. Have someone depress teh pedal when you are looking at the cable, I bet it curls up or kinks.... If so head down to the parts place and get another.

don't mean to sound too lame here, but perhaps the disc is "frozen" to the flywheel.
you still have neutral, right?
warm it up, shut down and try start in 2nd or 3rd with clutch pedal depressed.
might break loose.
my faulty memory is trying to recall a similar circumstance but it's a little fuzzy.

you get those fenders back on?

I will have to see what I can do when I have time.  Nope, the fender is not back on yet.  I needed to move it so I could get back to working on it.  It was buried under 3-4 feet of snow from December to middle end of February.  I am getting somewhere now, but need some space on the driveway.

Starting it in 2nd did the trick.  After that it worked again.  I got it moved.  Of course today we had snow.  In April!  I have the Mazda up on stands to do the rear brakes.  I was planning on working on the Sunrunner.  Now I have snow to deal with.  So much for those plans.  I think the wheels are going back on the Mazda, and I will wait until it is warm again. Grrrrr.
