Guys I am in serious need of help here !! I have about 1 month to get the rig running and I have been dealing with a problem that I cannot figure out.
anywho.........heres the skinny:
- 1993 1.6 16 valve OBD1
- everything checks out good and I am getting 12v to everything that needs it. I have verified this
- getting 12v up to the ignitor
- had coil tested at AutoZone.......tested good
no spark from coil
am I overlooking something ?
could the coil still be bad eventhough it tested good?
could the computer be bad eventhough it checked good by a qualified person?
Any ideas fellas ?
Thanks

Check the ignitor.

Check the ignitor.
thanks for the response brother.
I did replace the ignitor with a known good one and still nothing.
sorry I forgot to mention that in the starting post.

ok so now I am confused
I am at work and still researching timing and why I am getting no spark from the coil.
i found this:
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/IGN_timing/index.html (http://carfix.stufftoread.com/IGN_timing/index.html)
after reading this it says to put the 16 valve's TDC on the #1 piston instead of the #4. He states he is getting this from the FSM............
I would like to get the motor running by the end of this coming week.
Any help would be greatly appreciated fellas.

If you aren't getting spark, it has nothing to do with where things are... The distributor gets power from the electrical system then sends a pulse to the coil which then fires off spark back to the distributor cap... More than likely your distributor is dead... But, make sure you check the wiring closely between the distributor and coil first... Make sure there are no broken wires...

Is there any way to test the distributor ...............off of the motor?

There are a couple of different types of distributor, can you post some pics of the innards?

93 16V in the US only had one style distributor
