May be an old question but I couldnt find a subject on it so:
On the Rocky Road (or any other brand) 2" body lift what happens to the shifter and console on an automatic shift/tranny set up? I have a 98 tracker 2dr/4WD with auto trans, and everything I have read so far seems to deal with making shifter modifications for the 5spd stick shift tranny set up? Does the 2" lift kit work with auto trans? Anyone done one?
Thanks

Yes it works!
The auto has a cable, so no mods are needed.
The transfer case could stand to be modified with an extension.

I just did the RRO lift and you don't need to mod the auto tranny shifter. I added 2" to my transfer case shifter and it looks stock.

Great to hear that it works. I will order mine ASAP. Did the lift kit come with the TC extension ?
Thanks for the replies!

No but you can send your shifter to them and they will do it for you.

You do not have to extend the transfer case shifter unless you want to for looks. We have a 97 and a 2002 Tracker with the 2" body lift and did not extend the shifter on either and they work fine. The 97 is an auto, the 2002 is a manual.

I tried just straightening mine but the boot was so tight I didn't like it. It only took about 15 minutes to lengthen it and now it looks and feels stock.

My 2" body lift on my 1994 4-door Automatic did not need any shifter modification on the Transfercase.

I got an email from jjfwd (thanks jj) advising that the 2" lift will change my steering wheel position. Anyone know what that is all about? Does that mean anything regarding the pedals?

My 2" body lift from RROs did not change the steering wheel position. Mime was for a 2002 Tracker and I did buy the steering shaft extension.

Didnt change mine eather.

i have a 3 inch and it didnt change mine,
Maybe he is on about the steering linkage, but 2 inch you can just slacken it off as you need to before you lift it and tighten again as its on spines but i would check that you have enough spines to tighten too if you follow.,
the guys who have 2 inch lift will confirm that as i needed to for the 3 inch body lift
