I am looking to do a 2" body lift on my tracker, and was looking at the BDS kit, because it seems very complete. But it says its only for 1989 to 1995. What would be the difference in my 96 2dr automatic in the way of the body lift? Is there any other 2" kits that are complete like this?
-
maybe bumper brackets?
-
Did they change bumpers in 1996? Guess i havent noticed. so how much bs is there if i just order the RRO kit, and want to keep my bumpers and stuff?

For a 96+ don't waste the money on a BDS kit. You can EASILY raise the front and rear bumpers with small pieces of 2x2 box tubing. Buy the basic kit from Sky Manufacturing(or RRO) for much less money.
Don't get me wrong, BDS makes a great kit, but it is tuned towards the 89-95 style frame and you'd end up with a few extra pieces you can't use, and would have to get 2"x2" box tube anyway to lift the front bumper ;)
Here's a picture to give you an idea of how it's done: (this is 3", but it's just an example)

Ok, Great. I will get one coming!! Anything other than the bumpers that I will need to make? Its a auto, so I shouldnt have to worry abou the shifter.

So if one were interested in this BDS 2" body lift that includes everything, where can it be found? I dont have access to anything to fab up any bumper brackets or shifter extentions...so this kit catches my eye. I tried searching on google and stuff, but it doesn't give me any links to a price or where to buy ???
I know the BDS part number is 9250...but thats all I could find out.
Thanks~

I think you need to call them to order it. It is no longer in the books and stuff they give to dealers, but they still make it.

There should also be a dealer in your area, or somewhat close. I'm in NS Canada, and there's at least 3 dealers that I know of within a 50 mile radius.

Yes, but my dealer said it was no longer available since it wasnt in hs new book. Then I talked to the guy from the company, and he said it was still made, but not in the books.

I actually have a BDS dealer about 5 min. from my house but just like the quote below, he didn't list any of the Tracker Part #'s in his book (even the suspension kit) in order to give me a price.
Do you remember about how much the kit was? Im just curious since you told him to not waste his money 8)

Exactly...and I called BDS and they said I couldn't purchase directly, I would have to purchase through a dealer...which makes me kinda stumped now ???

This is Canadian pricing, but it was over $300.
I ordered the SORD one insdead and it was just under $200 shipped.
I made my rear bumper lift brackets from some scrap 2" tubing, and I modified the front bumper rebar to mount higher by cutting & rewelding the original brackets.
