Title: Front axle assembly from a vitara to a grand vitara?
Post by: Icelandic on April 11, 2009, 07:03:05 PM
I had a little accident yeasterday when the passengersside front bearing gave up!

I was wondering if the passengers side front axle assembly from a 1993 vitara fits my 2000/2001 grand vitara?

Heres a picture for the accident!

It was ridiculous when it happend. Its the bearing that was cooked! I had checked them a week before and everything seemd okey.

No noise or nothing prior to it happening....Just out of nowhere the wheel fell off!

I wouldn't recommend it.  It's a little shorter than the Grand Vitara passenger assembly, and will probably pop out if you have a lift with a decent amount of front travel.  It just happened to me two days ago.  You may be able to use an axle from the 1.8L Suzuki Sidekick Sport, if those are available where you are.  Good luck.

Keep in mind, if you have the manual transmission 2.5L, your OEM axle may be a little tougher than the autos, or 2.0L.
