There are 4 common carb swaps on a carbureted Samurai:
Weber 32/36 DGAx ("x" being the choke type character- electric or water)
Fairly easy to do and works good but but has some reliability issues when operated at extreme angles in offroad situations.
Sidedraft Harley carburetor (AKA http://www.zuksoffroad.net/ (http://www.zuksoffroad.net/) MySide kit). Works well, very reliable.
Hyundai Pony carburetor. Downdraft carb off of a Hyundai compact car sold in Canada. Not many installations but no major problems reported
Toyota Carburetor. Downdraft carburetor used in Toyota sedans (can't remember what ones). Not many installations but no major problems reported.
Do a search for carburetor at Ack's FAQ (the link is in my signature, below) for more information.

2 barrel Rochestor works pretty good; 24 miles to the gallon, plenty of power. You have to build an adapter plate.

Love the Rochester! Does anyone know the factory CFM rate for the 1.3 carb setup?
I am looking at a 390 CFM Holley with a off road float spring kit and how far down can I jet it?

There's also SOLEX carb. It's very alike WEBER unit, simple, reliable and easy to tune/upgrade.

I like my "carb"

Kidding aside I have yet to see a huge improvement over a good running stock carb. I have not seen the GSXR kit in action though.

Has anyone besides the people selling the GSX kit expressed an opinion or review? I also would like to hear more. Looks like it would be the "HOT TICKET".
