Hi, new to the forum after a long absence. Just got myself an 86 Samurai last fall and getting it ready for the trail. My window rolled down and won't go back up. Does anyone know of a kit to fix this and to also make the windows more snug so that they don't rattle around as much?
Thanks

Probably need a new window regulator.
You can use 2 door trackick window channel rubber pieces. They fit a samurai fine, and last longer than the cloth type samurai pieces.

thanks for the advice... any suggestions as to where I can order these online?

http://shop.carbodyparts.net/
Haven't used this site personally, but it is a start. They have regulators for $16.35

Thanks, I see they have the window regulators... now does anybody know where I can get the window channel rubber?

Thanks but these guys do not seem to have the window rubber. They have almost no Samurai parts listed on their web site at all.
Re: shop.carbodyparts.net they have a great price on regulators ($16.00 and change) but want about $45 for shipping and handling, which I think is outrageous...

Just so you're aware - not everything in inventory will show up when browsing that site - just as an example - I was looking for the transfer case lever boot (goes over the shift lever and seals to the transmission tunnel) for my GV - search by part name you'll never find it, search by part number and you will.

Thanks for the tip... I am not sure how to find part numbers ?! :-\
Petroworks has the window rubbers ("glass runs") for $34 each. I think I might go with that...
In searching for wheel flares for the 86 sammy, it looks like Bushwacker 6" (Rocky Road) should be good... I don't like the round ones from Calmini (too narrow) or the Mudbusters from Petroworks quite as much. Thoughts anybody?

Well that "SUCKS"! I would try e bay or place an add here in the Garage sale section, someone has to have some window regulators from some half door project or spares?

It turns out they (shop.carbodyparts.net) don't ship to Canada. At your suggestion, I posted a WTB on the garage sale section so I will see what happens... Thanks for the advice.
