So, you all remember this Kick, right?

From my article:
http://www.whitepineclub.com/offroad/tech/budgetbodylift/index.htm
Well.. since this article has been posted, this happened:

But that's not all... thanks to Sky from Sky Manuf, he managed to get another 4 door body and frame (thanks Sky if you are reading this!) The truck now looks like this!

;D ;D ;D
But, this guy is even more amazing. He first started with an 89 2 door that had a blown head gasket. He rebuilt the motor in that (8v), drove it for about 2 weeks, got his hands on a 4 door that was missing a lot of drivetrain, moved parts from the 89 two door to the 4 door (including the diffs and the engine) went from a manual to an automatic (so he runs an 8v with 5.12 gears)... and got it running.
Now, the maroon truck has everything that the white 4 door had. He basically lifted off the maroon body from it's frame, and put it on the white truck's frame.
So in essence, it's a 95 truck with a mix between 91 and 92 drivetrain and harness, using an 89 motor. Auto, and 5.12's.
With a Body Lift, Coil Spacers, and 31's! New black rimes to top it off!
This guy is amazing! All of this in like 3 months. With time to wheel! :o :o :o
And all this cost him... less than a brand new set of Goodyear MTR's. That INCLUDES the cost of the first 89 two door, and the engine rebuild. ::) :o

I guess he wasn't screwin around!!!

Here's some more pics, when he was changing stuff from the 2 door to the 4 door, rescuing the 4 door from the ground monster:

Back Yard is idaholwb's.. (he's NOT the one working on this though)
Rollover story... quick summary: out in the desert on a dirt road, going wayyyy too fast, 90 degree corner. ::)
Yes, they were all ok. He had his wife and kids with him too. Son was a little shooken up, but 5 yr old daughter looked up and said, can we do that again?
;)

Glad everyone walked away safe :o ...
...that's a lot of nice work...
...and I think he's got me sold on the skinless bumpers...
...but, am I the only one who feels a little sorry for the 2 door ;)
-
Yah, suzukis are tough. He said that it rolled back on all 4 wheels and he was able to drive it home. :o
...and another thing. This guy knew NOTHING about suzukis when he got his hands on the 2 door 3-4 months ago. :P
The main reason for the move to the 4 door was because of the kids. (they wanted to go wheeling too!)
sheesh.

Great story and with pics of progress, makes it even better.
Hopefully, the guy has learned about the CG of a lifted vehicle for at speed, other things need to be 'adjusted' for handling.
All this together and under a set of MTR's (roughly $900??).
Then that backyard, it needs a little cutting. I'd loose my tools in that for sure. A little frustration toss, it'll be gone..... Hopefully, for the jackstands, there are some type of 'flooring' to keep them on top of the ground rather than in it.
I really like the contrast of the white hood and grille. Tell him to add the white to the top also right along the inside that black roof top. It's really too bad that he couldn't cut the top off the white one, add a family cage, add a custom soft top, remove the windows and the track from the doors, add removal soft windows, and have a full 4-dr conv't with removable door windows.
What does he have planned for the 2dr? Suggest a trailer type setup.

Yah, CG is a little higher, but a lot of cars would have had a hard time doing what he did.  ::)
That's idaholwb for you. Again, that's his backyard. Thankfully most of the work was NOT done there. It was done on a cement driveway. :P
Heh, he thought about making it a convertible, but that's a lot of work, and might cost more than he would want to spend.  He still has the other body and frame though.
As for the 2 door, well.... goodbye was part of the deal. One reason why he's been able to keep this project cheap.
Soon, once he figures out all the parts he has, we'll be putting a buch of misc. stuff on ebay. Anybody looking for anything in particular? I'll let you know if we have it.

Hello, I happen to be the wife of the guy who accomplished all feats that HCGALVIN has told you all about.
What HCGALVIN forgets to tell people is that if It wasn't their help it would have not gone smoothly as it did.
My husband was not very mechanically inclined before all of this happened and boy has it been a ride(literally). ;D

Hey, hate to quote a cheesy hip-hop song here, but...was JKwon referring to Zukiworld when he said "Errbody in the club gettin' tipsy!" :P
Glad to see everyone's OK :o Good times AND THAT'S MAKIN' IT HERT!!!

"Errbody in the club gettin' tipsy!"
... is that what he says in the song? I could never quite figure it out.

Tell me about it. I had no idea what I was getting into when I joined the ranks of the Zuke lovers. I think I started with a simple question:

Hi there everyone! I just recently bought a '91 Suzuki Sidekick JLX 4-door 4x4 and I'm wondering what kinds of cool off-road mods I can do to it.
