I'm changing out a front diff from a 90 sidekick and want to replace the steering knuckle seals. I took out one seal each side ,sort of a stepped housing seal. Every place I phone about seals ask" inner or outer" I only can find one and only a spot for one. Where is the second seal supposed to go?

Check this, exploded parts down the page a little:

Part 27 inner seal, part 19 outer iirc. May be good plan to replace both while you're there though. Be sure to properly torque the lock washer for the crush bearing using the proper tool. hth

Thanks for answering Fuzz, The drawing helps ..but The seals #26 & 27 are the ones that don't make sense. I've got one and can't figure where any other would go? maybe it will be clear when I get the other seal (it's on order).
I've taken the hubs off three trackicks and still haven't seen a crush sleeve bearing. The last two I replaced with the same bearing as came out, back to back outer races no crush sleeve.

Nope. 26 and 27 are the inner and outer seals (they refer to whether they fit "inside" the wheel hub assembly or "outside" the wheel hub assembly). The same seals are also shown in Figure 10 at the top of the page.....they are parts 4 and 5 (hub inner oil seal and hub outer oil seal).
Part 19 is just a washer.

Ahh, I see... so they're a double seal sorta stacked on each other... ok makes sense, & thanks for correction.

When the second seal came I figured out where it went. One goes in the back of the knuckle but the other goes onto the drive shaft. They were so tight on the shaft I was sure they were part of the shaft. They were probably the original ones. The metal part of the first fits into the rubber of the second like a labyrinth / slinger type seal.
